The Pain Point: Buying Premium White Slabs From a Photograph
A fabricator wins a marble kitchen island job and sources Statuario Venato the usual way: a broker sends one flattering slab photo, the price is right, and eight slabs are booked over email. Six weeks later the container opens and reality arrives with it. The bold grey vein that made the sample photograph beautiful runs differently on every slab; two pieces carry a faint yellowish haze near one edge; and the pieces that looked identical online turn out to be from different blocks. On ordinary material that is an inconvenience. On Statuario marble slab inventory — one of the most expensive whites in the Carrara market — it is a direct hit to yield, because the fabricator has already promised the client a vein direction for the island front and a book-matched pair for the splashback, and the slabs that arrived cannot deliver either promise.
What That Costs the Buyer
Remote slab buying fails in three expensive ways. Yield first: when the fabricator only discovers vein positions after cutting, nesting efficiency collapses — countertop runs that should come from two slabs consume three, and on a stone priced per square metre at the top of the market every wasted run of vein is real money. Scheduling second: the fabricator either holds production waiting for replacements or re-cuts and renegotiates with the client, and both cost days. Trust third: a wholesaler who has shipped “not the slab in the photo” once will spend years winning that customer back.
The Solution: Slabs Are Sold by Batch, Photo and Grade
Our Statuario marble slab supply works on a simple contract: what you approve is what ships. Slabs reserved for your order are photographed in full — full-slab face images, not close-ups — together with the batch number and block origin from the Carrara region of Italy. You select, nest and approve against the actual slabs, and those same slab numbers are crated for you. If you buy by video call, we walk the racks with you and record the inspection; the photographs and batch references stay with the order file.
Technology and Process That Protect the Yield
Three factory controls do the work. Block-level selection: only blocks meeting our criteria for white purity, vein intensity and structural soundness enter the gang-saw programme, so the batch you choose from is consistent before you ever see it. Full-slab documentation: every slab offered carries its dimensions, thickness and vein map, which lets a fabricator plan a waterfall island, book-matched pair or medallion field on paper before cutting. Nesting support: send us your cut list and we flag which slabs should be kept whole for island fronts and which can donate smaller pieces for splashbacks and tables — the decisions that separate a 70% yield from a 90% one on premium material.
The Procurement Value You Take Away
You plan production on real material instead of optimism. Cut-to-size orders are CNC-cut to the approved layout; edge profiles — eased, beveled, bullnose, ogee, waterfall or custom — are milled on CNC routers after sawing. MOQ starts from 50 m² and lead time runs 25–35 days from drawing approval, so a fabricator can quote a realistic production window instead of a hopeful one. And because slab photos, batch numbers and inspection records travel with the order, any dispute about what was sold has a document trail instead of a memory contest.
Formats and Finishes
Slabs up to 3200 x 1900 mm (about 126 x 75 in) in 18–20 mm (about 3/4 in) and 30 mm (about 1-1/4 in) thickness cover the standard programme: kitchen countertops and waterfall islands, feature wall panels, dining and coffee table tops, and water-jet medallion fields. Polished finish maximises the white luminosity and vein contrast; honed gives a soft matte surface; brushed adds tactile texture. Floor and wall modules — 600 x 600 mm (24 x 24 in) and larger cut-to-size formats — are cut from the same batches, so a wall, floor and furniture package can be specified from one consistent supply of Statuario marble.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can we select slabs remotely and still get what we approved?
Yes. Reserved slabs are photographed in full with batch numbers, you approve specific slab IDs, and those IDs ship. This is the standard workflow for our wholesale marble slab customers, not a special request.
Do you help with nesting before cutting?
Send the cut list and we will indicate which slabs should stay whole for island fronts or book-matched pairs and which can supply smaller pieces — the key decision for yield on premium white marble.
Can cut-to-size pieces and slabs ship in one container?
Yes. Slabs are packed in A-frames and cut-to-size pieces in export crates; both can be consolidated, with piece numbers matching the approved layout.
What happens if a slab is damaged in transit?
Report it with photos on arrival; the batch and inspection records allow us to assess replacement options quickly from the same or nearest-matching batch.
