Product Detail

The sample looked perfect — the table that arrived put the bloom on the wrong side

A stone coffee table is a small top with a big pattern, and that is exactly where the risk lives. Pandora is a Brazilian natural stone whose cream ground carries large brown floral movement: on a 36 in round coffee table, a single bloom can carry the whole design — or ruin it if it falls awkwardly across the front edge where hands and mugs land. The showroom sample your client approved was one slab. The top that arrives is another. Unless the placement was decided on the actual stone before cutting, nobody — not the showroom, not the importer, not the factory — knew where the pattern was going to fall until the polishing line finished.

For a living-room one-off the surprise is a client conversation. For a hotel lounge programme it is a commercial failure: eight cocktail tables in one lobby, each cut from a different slab, reading as eight strangers instead of one family. The specification said the right stone; the outcome was still wrong, and the replacement cost is all yours.

What uncontrolled placement costs a furniture buyer

Rejected shipments on high-figure stone are brutal — the slab cannot be un-cut, so a misplaced bloom is not a defect you negotiate a discount on; it is a table you write off. Mismatched sets in a lounge, café or sales-centre project do worse: they quietly devalue the interior the designer specified, and the client remembers whose table it was. Every iteration you cannot control pushes the decision cycle out a week, and in furniture retail a missed season is a missed year.

Our answer: the pattern is approved on the actual slab before we cut

Every Pandora coffee table order is planned on the image of the real slab that will be cut. You send the size, shape and base style; we return a placement drawing showing exactly where the strongest movement falls on your round, oval, oblong or nesting top — strongest bloom centred on a round cocktail table, run lengthwise on an oblong, kept clear of the front edge. Nothing is cut until you approve that drawing, so the table that arrives is the table that was drawn. This is the same professional design-development discipline we apply across our solid stone furniture line: your concept is converted into 3D models and, when the project warrants it, a physical sample — so the final result is exactly as envisioned, not approximately hoped for.

For multi-table programmes, tops are matched by movement character across the set so a row of coffee tables reads as one family. Sizes follow the dimensions the furniture trade actually builds and buys: 30 in and 36 in round tops for standard sofas, 48 in round or oblong tops for sectionals and lounge groupings (about 760, 915 and 1220 mm), with nesting sets cut from the same slab so the movement carries across both pieces. Top thickness runs 2 cm (3/4 in) for classic tops on bases and thick-cut 3 cm (1-1/4 in) or heavier for plinth and block formats where the stone itself is the structure.

How each piece reaches you safely

Cutting is CNC-guided against the approved placement; edges are eased or bullnosed with custom profiles for furniture brands building a collection; and every piece is inspected against the approved drawing before packing. Then comes the part importers underestimate: custom-reinforced export packaging built for irregular solid stone, with tops face-protected and bases crated separately, loaded by our own team to cut both breakage risk and sea freight cost. Single-piece orders are accepted with no rigid MOQ gate — a showroom prototype and a forty-table hotel programme move through the same placement-approval discipline.

What this buys you

Sell the table from the drawing, not the hope: what your client approves on the placement image is what lands on the showroom floor. Ship mixed programmes — nesting sets, dining tables, console and side tables — without the mismatch risk that keeps designers from specifying pattern-forward stone. And shorten the decision cycle, because the sample conversation and the production decision are the same conversation: the approved drawing is the cutting instruction.

Questions buyers ask before ordering

Can I see where the pattern falls before production? That is the standard process — a placement drawing on the actual slab image is sent for approval, and cutting follows only the approved version.

Do you accept one-piece orders? Yes — single-piece bespoke orders and small-batch programmes are accepted with no rigid MOQ constraint.

Can tops be matched across a hotel set? Yes; tops are selected and matched by movement character so the set reads as one family.

What about the surface under daily use? The stone is hard and takes a fine polish; a sealed surface wipes clean with a pH-neutral cleaner. We state care facts plainly rather than promising the impossible.

How is the table packed for export? Custom-reinforced packaging for irregular solid stone: tops face-protected, bases crated, loaded by our team to minimize both damage and freight.
